Here we are, the night before the last day of school. I am so excited for summer break, having a break! But, then that also means that my two children will be with me all day, every day, until we go back to school. I work as a CNA in the health rooms for two elementary schools. I LOVE my job, I think I have one of the best jobs in the world. However, the last month of school is simply exhausting!
I was told, by a wise school teacher, that the last working in a school is a lot like pregnancy. The first 8 months are wonderful and you just cannot wait to for that last month to end. No kidding!
And, as I typed this, I had to break up a fight between my two lovely children, who adore each other to the fullest extent. Not ready for a summer of fighting, name calling and eye rolling. Good thing I am very good friends with Jose Cuervo and his delicious margarita mix! Get a large sized Tervis, add some ice (not too much) and then just pour heaven into your glass. Try to enjoy while ready a trashy novel, a funny movie or in the simple quiet of your bathroom, hoping that those little legs and feet do not find you until you have finished your first glass.
I used to wait until they went to bed before I poured a glass of golden deliciousness but let’s face it, starting a bit earlier in the night helps me get through their 27th fight of the day a whole lot easier.
My husband is at golf league tonight, I guess I should be the one to make my kids dinner, huh?! A mommy’s work is never done.
